Monday's annual Gotham Networking, Bob Formica Memorial Golf Outing (sponsored by Raj and Sharon Goel's Brainlink International), dawned clear and crisp and warmed to a perfect, sunny, 70 degree day.
It is increasingly rare that I see a restaurant check without a suggested gratuity amount.
Its 18 years running! (No one seems to really know the exact number)   For the first time in Gotham history there was a Hole In One on the 17th hole, 177 yard par 3, or was it 192?   This year the weather was perfect, the golf was great, the food and drink were plentiful.   Fred sang a song(back up singer), I played camera man.   An amazing crowd of amazing people who all had great relationships with each other.
Yesterday we celebrated an annual Gotham tradition – our Golf Outing.
I dislike making gender specific characteristics. But this one I have to question.   During a conversation at lunch at work last week, the subject of our weights came up. The men were very willing-and in fact did-to share their weights. The women, on the other hand, all refused to disclose their weight. And we were all shocked that the men so readily disclosed theirs.
When I offered to fill in for your regular Sunday Blogger I told him that I would adhere to the usual musical themed post.
In light of the response to my blog last week, I'm focussing on one of the 15.    You can't change people    You can guide, support, and offer advice, but real change only happens when someone is willing to put in the effort. No matter how much you want to help, if a person isn't ready to make changes, there's nothing you can do. (And we all know someone who fits this description)   Instead of trying to force someone into action, be there when they are ready to change and offer your support.
On Labor Day we hosted a family gathering and it was the perfect opportunity for Batting Practice.
