3 or 4 times in the past month or two i had walked to the mailbox on my corner and sent out a few things only to find out they had never been delivered. Its happened multiple times. Is my local mail team screwing it up? I can understand if it happened once randomly but its been a few times that something wasn't delivered. Is my local mail team losing stuff? I have had to drive to other mailboxes further away. Not alot you can do in these circumstances.
With the onset of that part of our summer where we are watching our grand puppy, our small screen choices have literally come into view.  Most of our binging choices are on hiatus (with the exception of The Bear) and so we are looking for some suggestions.    We only have a few episodes left of The Bear (with review to come later).
It seems that every four years there is a story of heartbreak at the Olympics. This year it is the story of Jordan Chiles, the American gymnast.
First off, I thank my friend, architect and Gotham GREEN® co-chair, Josh Zinder for pinch-hitting in this space for me last week.  Shelly and I attended a Pythian Supreme Lodge Convention in Roanoke, Virginia, Monday through Thursday where good friend and Gotham Queens member Craig Shink got elected and installed as Supreme Master of Arms (If all proceeds according to "tradition," Craig will take office in six years as Supreme Chancellor.).
Mother Nature’s rule is absolute, and let's be honest—we humans don’t stand a chance. Have you watched the news this week?   She’s got the ultimate power to command oceans, mountains, and skies. We may build walls, tunnels, and protection for our towns and cities, but one good storm and boom—we are underwater from a tropical store (cue Debby)   We might think we’re in control, but Mother Nature just chuckles and rolls out a wildfire or exploding volcano. We're just guests in her world.
As follow up to my recent "Taking Credit" blog, where I declared I no longer need to take credit for what has blossomed from a suggestion or idea, I need to add that, nonetheless, an important ingredient of social intercourse is feedback.  Feedback is follow-up/response to one's suggestion or idea.
We recently went to the gift show (Shoppe Object) on the never-ending search for Refined Finds. What surprised me was the number of vendors offering writing supplies and encouraging writing. Notebooks, papers, cards, pens and pencils. All dedicated to getting thoughts from the mind through the arm, hand and fingers to whomever.
I am struck with more than the usual traveling fears.  My fears normally center around my clients being taken care of? Missing a deadline while out of the office for an extended time. Are my employees overworked trying to cover for me?  How is my 100.9 year old mother-in-law going to fare while we are gone?  The normal white noise that all self employed people go through when leaving their 2nd home (aka the office).  But this time, Stew and I will be traveling under difference circumstances than we have for the past 4 years.
