Tell me a Joke
Posted By : Rona Gura

I attended a professional meeting last week.  The facilitator of the meeting asked us all to bring a joke to tell. The criteria was that the joke had to be not offensive, one you would tell a client.   I found the evening to be extremely enjoyable.  Not everyone had the opportunity to tell a joke, because each joke led us into another interesting d

Exercise Your Most Precious Right
Posted By : Corey Bearak

Annually I use this space each Autumn to remind folks to exercise their most precious right in our democracy — our right to vote.  Election Day 2025 takes place Tuesday, November 4, and in New York early voting starts Saturday, October 25.  In New York City, you can find your poll site or early voting location at this link.   45 years ago this mo

Why I'm marching
Posted By : Mitch Tobol

Today, I’ll be marching. Not against anyone, but for something I believe in deeply...our country and the Constitution that holds it together.   I know we don’t all see things the same way. We come from different backgrounds, vote differently, and carry our own ideas about what America means. But I think most of us still believe (I hope) in the same

What You See

Sometimes you need a headline to put you in focus.I am not tech savvy. Nor have I kept up with AI, but the headline in yesterday’s business section of the New York Times did it.“You Can No Longer Trust Your Eyes” and the article welcomed the reader to the world of AI video fakery.Yet another nail in the coffin of truth.

What do I know ...
Posted By : Shelley Simpson

I’ve been fascinated by human physiology since I was a kid. Over the years, I’ve attended workshops, read books and articles, and spoken with medical experts. So, it’s no surprise that I ultimately found my way to owning a health and wellness business. The thing is that I’m still not a medical expert, and so when I was asked to give a presentatio

Photo Albums Over Time
Posted By : Nancy Schess

My phone houses almost 13,000 moments of memories – also known as photos.  Recently, I’ve noticed being drawn to the function that lets me sort those photos by year – and then comparing life from one year to the next.   I have family photos when my kids were young – through baseball games, school shows, dance competitions, speech and debate tournam

Either the need to tell the world to remove the demons like therapy, or it was a move to sell the documentary.

And So It Goes
Posted By : Rona Gura

I wanted to follow up on Nancy’s blog about the Billy Joel documentary, “And So It Goes.” I have  been a Billy Joel fan since high school, yes even before “The Stranger” came out. I owned “Cold Spring Harbor” and “Turnstiles.”     Being such a longtime fan, I absolutely loved the documentary.   Throughout the five hour documentary, however, I kept
