Yes it happened here....well in Florida anyway. Police arrested a 53-year-old woman and charged her with drunk driving. The funny thing is, she was riding a horse.
The police had received a few 911 calls about someone riding down the road on a horse. So they responded, located her and pulled her over. The officers peformed a sobriety test, found her well over the legal limit and she was charged with DUI.
No word if the horse was given a sobriety test though.
A nurse is defined as a person trained to care for the sick or infirm, especially in a hospital and although they have always been important, albeit underappreciated, they are becoming recognized as more and more important as our population ages and healthcare system totters.
The following was written by my good friend (Tow Pro) Chuck Schmidt in recognition of the above:
As I watched the coverage of Tuesday’s terrorist attack and the reality set in, two recurring thoughts came to mind.
I remembered our walks along that stretch of the path along West Street and I remembered an off-Broadway play that we saw many years ago. I don’t remember the name.
The play, set in Israel, depicted scenes of everyday life — a visit with friends, dinner in a restaurant, coffee in a cafe. Each scene was abruptly interrupted by an explosion — a terrorist attack.
There is always a little more hope in the first of the month.
A new beginning.
A fresh start.
I remember our first Halloween after moving into our house. It was 1998 and Jaclyn was not quite 3 years old. We had just moved in the previous summer after living in an apartment in Manhattan. Going door to door was a different experience.
This week was a big week in history, the John F. Kennedy assignation files were released. Nearly 3,000 secret government files related to John F. Kennedy’s 1963 assassination have been made public more than 50 years after he was gunned down as he and his motorcade rode through Texas’ Dealey Plaza.
This (as in today’s) blog found its voice or muse while reading my friend’s “Fridays with Fred” blog.
I did a number of blogs around likes and more recently dislikes.
Hey, what do you feel like doing today? I've got it...let's throw some axes. C'mon...
Well if you were in Paris, you could. There's a place called Les Cognees - French for "axes" or "hatchets" - where people can gather after work and pay to hurl heavy edged weapons around. All you need is about $17 and for an hour you can feel like a warrior :)
