What Are You Binging?
Posted By : Nancy Schess

We just finished The Bear.  It was slow starting, but Season 2 was spectacular.  Such great acting and character development.   Soon Bridgerton will be back I’m told but The Gilded Age is a long time away.  We spent weeks and weeks getting through The Americans, sitting on the edge of our seats.  And, we are still waiting for a release date of Shri

Like you, our family traditions go back over 25 years. We sing songs, throw frogs ( at Eric, we started that as a family when he was young), and just enjoy the tradition.

Tradition
Posted By : Rona Gura

Tonight marks the beginning of Passover. As we host both Sedars, my husband and I spent all day Sunday preparing.   The first step in preparation was to take out, from our storage closet, our Sedar plates, matzoh plates, and matzoh covers. As I was handling each item I was struck by the length of time we had been using them and what they each mean

Never Would I Ever
Posted By : Nancy Schess

Now, this is a blast from the past.   How many of you out there grew up with plastic slipcovers on the living room couch?    If you are there with me, remember the whooshing noise they made when you sat down?  How about, what it felt like to stand up from the hot cushions in the heat of the summer?  Or, how the sharp edges on the corners felt just

Such a great question and I am pretty sure I do. You have heard me describe myself as a culture lawyer. I that the similar ideas guide me personally.

When Personal Becomes Professional
Posted By : Rona Gura

I was reminded recently of the personal experiences we sometimes bring to our professional experience.   As many of you know, I became a divorce lawyer after going through my own personal divorce. In making the change, I felt that my personal experiences going through my own divorce would enhance my work as a divorce attorney. I believed that my pe

I get it. But there is just something about that big screen that still gets me.

The First Time Back
Posted By : Nancy Schess

We would have ventured back to a movie theatre ages ago but frankly, just did not have the opportunity.  OK, in truth, maybe we became a little lazy during the pandemic. There is something very relaxing about pajamas, a glass of wine and a movie or binge worthy show on my big screen TV. And, during the pandemic, the choices became very plentiful.

Funny, it so very much depends on the scenario in our house. That said, we complement each other well. We both need the bed made in the morning and the kitchen clean at night. Bill won't see the crumbs on the stove top or even the counter sometimes -- but he will scrub the inside of the toaster. I'm afraid we are both a little messy too.

A Little Bit of Mess
Posted By : Rona Gura

My husband likes to say that I am the messy one and he is the neat one. I have to admit he is probably right.   I like to consider myself a bit like Linus from “Charlie Brown.” A little bit of mess follows me wherever I go. My husband, however, has the uncanny ability to detect my mess. For example, just last night I sprayed Pam in a pan on the st

Our Visit to Loxton Cellars
Posted By : Nancy Schess

One of the highlights of our recent trip to northern California was a luxurious day spent in Sonoma.  My daughter planned the whole excursion for the four of us – complete with door to door service and a scrumptious midday lunch.  Next time I see you, I encourage you to ask to see pictures.   One of the vineyards we visited was Loxton Cellars where
