Today is a special day. Although it is someone’s birthday, everyday is someone’s birthday. Today is special because it’s Opening Day — the Mets in Miami and the Yankees at home.Opening Day is very special. No statistics, hope and optimism reign supreme. Like race horses starting in the gate.
When I hear people talk about being “burned out.”  it makes me think about campfires and warnings from Smokey the Bear- remember him?  “Only YOU can prevent forest fires!”  
Mondays and Fridays are remote days in my world.  Through the winter, on those days I would settle in bright and early with a tall cup of coffee and yes, fuzzy slippers.  Once the computer was turned on, there has been very little distraction – maybe lunch, because you all know how much I enjoy a good meal.

I started teaching last week and in the first class I always rant about the process they will be going through. I emphatically and passionately make a plea for each student to approach the class with an open heart and an open mind.   If they are able to be vulnerable, each student will learn about themselves in their journey of building a business plan. It really becomes a process of personal growth which I'm grateful to be a part of.  
On Wednesday night I facilitated a "Boys Night Out".   Of course, we are no longer Boys, but we like to think of ourselves as such and maybe we act it at times.   In any case, we were an eclectic group of 6 guys (pictured). 4 from New York, one from New Orleans and one from Kentucky and, not coincidentally, 4 Liberals and 2 conservatives.
