It seemed like a fun idea, and it was.
Saturday night we went to see an 80’s cover band. Two full hours of rocking to a playlist that took us back to a very different time – even back to the 70s.
My favorite Muppet, Elmo, broke the internet this week. Elmo asked a simple question on X (formerly known as Twitter). Elmo posted:
Elmo is just checking in. How is everyone doing?
While I promote my work around the concept of making a difference - mostly in the realm of public policy, and often speak about the joy it often (always) brings this commentator, I gave some thought how it allows me to meet new and interesting people and forge relationships. Most recently it involves two groups meeting weekly with a flurry of calls, text and emails in between.
This hasn’t happened in 3 years…my nuclear family is getting together. To facilitate this, flights must be arranged and coordinated, hotel rooms booked, and activities planned. Lest I forget, COVID tests and an abundance of caution taken prior to the weekend.
To have everyone in one room is worth the work. I’ll have to make sure my phone is charged so I can take tons of pictures.
If you could choose between Fame, Money or Power, which one would you pick?
All are extraordinary and out of the reach of most.
To me the choice is obvious: Fame has so much hidden downside, Money has its negatives too, but Power, if wielded correctly for good, is my overwhelming choice.
Imagine if you had The Power!
Every person is a universe and every universe has it's mysteries.Flo met Dana at the Jewish Museum in Miami Beach. She followed us into the museum and immediately caught Flo’s eye.
We waited all season long. Now we know the 2 teams that will play in the Super Bowl. The 49ers and KC. Some say there was a new franchise this year, The Taylor Swift franchise. It is said that this year Taylor Swift has generated over $300 million for both KC and the NFL just by being present at the games. All the headlines, all the facetime on TV, her fan base watching. Over the years there has also been controversial talk that the NFL is rigged. The refs call the game in favor of the team that is best for the NFL.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to create a “half glass full” occasion. My son and his girlfriend just returned from a (fantastic) trip to Lima. The problem was that their flight was cancelled and so they had to rebook at the last minute. Add to the story – they live in Lynchburg VA.
