This past Tuesday marked our 1200th “Calm” session.Calm — something that, I suppose, we all could use more of.Calm — something we could all aspire to.

I love summer - fresh air coming through open windows! I’ve always seen air conditioning as an unnecessary convenience – not good for the environment and not necessary for me.   

Without exaggeration, for over 10 years – maybe more – I have been buying five fresh delicious rolls from the bakery at my supermarket.  Every Saturday.  Five has seemed to be the perfect number since Bill makes lunch for himself every day.  Although sometimes, there is a breakfast slipped in there too.  

Last week, I had dinner with longtime friends. The three of us started our legal careers at the same law firm. Even though the three of us had not seen one another in person for a long time, the conversation just flowed and the time went by too quickly.  

Once a year a group of friends connected from one or more of neighborhood, elementary school, high school or their relationship to someone with one of the prior mentioned connections gather at Bell Park Manor Terrace across from Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village.  Kirby Lindell, who I met and befriended in high school, is the "instigator."  Kirby also played a key role in high school reunions that took place like clock work every five years concluding with our 50th last fall.  Some friends fit all of those connections to Kirby.

We had a Strawberry Moon last night. Did you see it?   This year, the Full Moon coincides with the summer solstice. It reached peak illumination at 9:08PM last night. Because of this, today the Sun will be at its highest of the year.  

Delegation (or delegating) is the process of distributing and entrusting work to another person.  To me, the process of delegating is a powerful offshoot and manifestation of networking.

Yesterday we celebrated Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the Union troops reached Galveston Texas with the news (belated by over two years) of the Emancipation Proclamation abolishing slavery and granting freedom to all.Freedom. Individual freedom.
