While at the Theresa Foundation dinner, I told several people about an incident that occurred in my home the night before. Due to Cablevision working on their wires during the night, we kept losing phone service. As a result, our house alarm went off every hour. My husband got up every hour and turned the alarm off. I slept through most of it.  

When self-employed you become very aware of what you do with your time. Whereas my business model prefers not to rely on billable hours typical of attorneys and other professionals, my model involves focusing on clients, their needs, and business development activities during the week (and then some). That means some tasks once squeezed in during the week now wait for the weekend.  

A Burger King in Finland has made the idea of enjoying a Whopper in a sauna a reality by opening the world's first Burger King spa.   The Helsinki restaurant features the Burger King-themed spa which can seat up to 15 people. The spa features Red and Blue accents to match the restaurant's logo, a 48-inch television screen and towels featuring Burger King branding. A shower, locker room and toilet are also attached to the spa.  

I know some label Mother's Day a "Hallmark Holiday" (does anyone know the first such holiday?), but as the years go by the day becomes more and more poignant to me.  On Sunday I posted the above beautiful photo of my mom on fredslist saying "Happy Mother's Day mom.  I miss you!"Oh how I wish she was still here and how well I remember her constant admonitions to be a "Good Boy Freddy".

It is a nice bistro-style restaurant on West 44th Street where we often enjoy a pre-theatre meal. We have recommended Saju to friends and relatives. We were a bit disappointed when we were seated there last Saturday evening. Our favorite table was taken and we were brought to a table in the room off to the side. We asked to be moved and ended up at a table along the wall in the main room.

Sometimes I find enjoying a film to be quite cathartic and inspiring, especially if I'm feeling a little "down in the dumps" or sad. Well, it turns out I'm not the only one who thinks watching a movie can be a very helpful thing to do, there are actually whole doctorates on this very subject, not to mention websites, organizations and meet ups. We can thank the internet for the connection of like minded people.

  We spent Mother’s Day celebrating with my cousin’s family. For the first time in as long as I can remember there were young children in the room.

I have admitted it before; I am a television reality junkie. I love The Real Housewives (New York, New Jersey, and Beverly Hills), Project Runway, Top Chef and Million Dollar Listings (New York, L.A. and San Francisco). I have rationalized my passion for reality television as  a means for getting me on the treadmill and/or the elliptical. I generally will not watch any other of these shows unless I am exercising.
