I met Bill a few months ago. Or, I should say, I reconnected with Bill at our 50th High School reunion a few months ago. When I heard that Bill played golf, I parked that bit of information in the back of my mind in anticipation of Gotham's annual golf outing. As the Golf outing, which was held on Monday, approached, I thought of Bill and invited him to join our foursome. Although it would be a long trip from New Jersey, Bill enthusiastically agreed. It was no surprise that Bill would be late on Monday. However, his call about 15 minutes before tee-off time was not expected.

The sun was shining on Gotham.     What a beautiful day spent with old friends and new ones. And I have to say that my foursome never golfed better. Really. We golfed.
Every year my blog is published the day of the Gotham golf outing. I was never a golfer. I decided to try golfing as a physical education elective while I was a senior in high school. On my first day of class I took a long swing and happily watched the ball take off.
I enjoy helping and making a difference.
A sacred cow is an idea, custom, or institution held, especially unreasonably, to be above criticism...a taboo. Essentialy something that people do not like to question.   Regardless of your political leanings, we are in an environment where it seems a lot of sacred cows are up for grabs.   NAFTA Paris Agreements NATO Foreign trade Government adminstration Political correctness Truth   It can be unsettling or not depending on your point of view. Are there others?
Do the names David Bailey and Crystal Griner resonate for you?  They really really should.  They are the heroic U.S. Capital Police officers who last week, in a true moment of truth, ran into the fire, right into the guns and bullets and probably saved innumerable congressional lives.  A heroic man and woman did not hesitate and saved the day.  In these violent super charged days the prospect of being confronted with a moment of truth is greater than ever.  Have you ever thought about what you would do?  I have.
Last weekend, Alexandria, Virginia. I followed as Flo and Jackson, our 4 and a half year old grandson, got on the free "Trolley" that makes its way up and down King Street in Old Town.
