The Chimes of Freedom

Today we celebrate 245. A special day. When a nation got born. It meant a lot then. It means more I argue today. Today the promise of 1776 applies to more than ever before. Inclusion matters. Let this year realize that promise (or bring us all closer to it.) Click below to further your understanding: https://youtu.be/BaqC7QSXjDU o

I learned to wait until Fathers Day passes before I put down my red mulch in my yard. Though not complete, we started the task on the large area around our two trees Friday eve, and worked on one of the two smaller flower sections yesterday; we expect to complete the smallest section tomorrow. Yes, Shelly helped; no complaints here.   Preparation a

Happy Father's Day!

Motivated in part by a campaign I enjoy (don’t tell the client) advising in New York City’s Municipal Primary elections, I posted a Gotham promo Friday that opened with the same musical Happy Father’s Day message, I enjoy make a tradition posting when I open my commentary every Father’s Day: a video of current Poco bassist and vocalist Jack Sundrud

Hear that music

Some people tell this commentator that I Live for the Music. I concede I missed live music. Last night with our friends Eric and Jar we checked out a band called Rock Steady outdoors at Lamotta’s in Port Washington. It’s drummer, Andy Lavin, is a member of this tribe that hosts this commentary. And this coming Thursday, at 6:00 p.m., everyone can e

It makes a big difference....for me

My wife “retired” just before the winter. Around that same time my work schedule, pandemic and all, picked up and I found a need for some assistance. I often could not get away to check my box at the post office, get to the bank or even during my afternoon, address some of the yard work. I cannot complain about being busy. My mantra remains to help

It makes a parent proud

Mid-morning Friday, our son texted “Tweeted out my new article.” I replied “I’ll look congrats” and opened twitter, search out my son’s account to find his article, which appeared in the prestigious journal, Demograph

It’s wonderful!

Last week’s commentary hailed the start on unveiling my outside office. I actually used the space the week that past expecting to complete the remaining space through this weekend. A “funny thing” happened over the course of the week. The now-retired spouse of this commentator actually “discovered” the new power wash device I used; she not only fin

So begins the task
Posted By : Corey Bearak

Last year at this time, the outdoor office was nearly complete. Going into this weekend I was not sure time would allow me to power wash the deck; that task remains the prerequisite to deploying the deck furniture stored in the shed, including the umbrellas. I am glad to report I completed the section where I setup. So sometime after this blog g

A day for the special moms
Posted By : Corey Bearak

Last year on this day, the #1 mom in my life — obviously the one I live with — got a surprise involving her son visiting our place with his then girlfriend now fiancé.  This year no surprise but a visit nonetheless.  After a campaign HQ opening — outdoors &  masked for my newest client, I returned to pick up Shelly and begin a drive to Amherst,

Some may have noted someone MIA....again... at the Gotham Happy Hour. Sometimes the logistics work not at all. The intention remains. Parental duties intervened. Our son yesterday moved into home number 10 yesterday morning; his parents helped him and his fiance finish their “exit” from downtown Brooklyn across Adams Street from where his uncle wor
