plans changed (but that's OK)

It’s nice to be be busy – and I am not talking about work (but that too!) When this weekend got scoped some time ago, my daughter was getting the benefit of attending a Broadway matinee (Letters of Suresh) with her mom yesterday and an afternoon game at Citifield today with her dad. Plans change. The Baseball gods moved the game from this afternoon

It was a special night.  I think my tweet captured the sentiment.   We gathered at Citi Field last night.   It involved more than a game. Shelly posted on Facebook some nice pics of the pre-game ceremony.  The outcome on the field remained secondary (thought there certainly are those happy or not at that) to the commemoration.  Bottom line,

Take It Easy
Posted By : Corey Bearak

While I like to attend concerts, the stadia, amphitheater, arena experience – in terms of accessing the facility and one’s seats – involves nothing easy. That said, the experience once inside borders on exhilaration, especially if you know and enjoy the music. One song tied together the concerts my daughter and I enjoyed last Wednesday and as this

There was supposed to be a show tonight but weather concerns put it off to later this week. If not for that, I could state music consumes this weekend. Nonetheless, I saw some really solid performances Friday and Saturday. Dead and Company performed Friday eve at Citi Field. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation's Never Forget Concert Saturday at Jones B

Finally (and in honor of this blog, taking my coffee black this morning)!   Got to see a live show featuring one of my most fave bands. We chose an outdoor venue: The Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater. We — my daughter Marisa with me — saw Squeeze opening for Hall and Oates. Marisa said she liked the Squeeze set best. Both bands played relati

An august week for the Bearak offspring.

This is the blog Friday’s blogger pressed me to draft and post last week. I argued let the net “facts” occur first. In fact, I get to tout not only my newly promoted daughter but my son who shared word of a recent study getting issued last week in print.   Last Monday, our daughter, Marisa, started her new gig at the New York Region of American Jew

The Game that mattered not at all
Posted By : Corey Bearak

It was suggested midweek that this blog cover something that becomes official tomorrow but it makes sense to share that in a subsequent commentary. I prefer to share something that never occurred with me and a baseball game. Last Tuesday, we stayed for the entire game despite the home team – my beloved team – not likely at all to rally to victory.

From time to time I enjoy the honor of guiding candidates who seek public office. Win or lose the opportunity to help aspirants make a difference and become stronger candidates and better at what they do makes the task worth my time. At the end of last year and over this month and last, I found another electoral task to delve into: My Community Boa

Strategy matters.

Strategy matters. A lot. And bad strategy often begets bad outcomes.   Speaking of strategy. No plan existed to write this until something unfolded last night.   Those who discuss baseball (and softball too) with me know how important I view the construction of a batting order, the ephemeral lineup.   I look at constructing (choice of word intended

Live for the music
Posted By : Corey Bearak

One of the (many) things that I look forward to as much of our nation recovers from the impacts of COVID-19 centers around the return of live music, and soon I’ll get to start seeing some of my all-time faves live in concert!   Several blogs ago I mentioned a night out to see some live music ahead of the return of Gotham Battle of the Bands®, this
