Apple Store, iPhone, Roosevelt Field, COVID, Knights of Pythias, Grand Lodge, 46th District, Mt. Sinai Brooklyn, Menorah Center
Shelly left the gym early the other day since once nearby user constantly removed his mask during workouts; of course she complained but the “hall monitors” never seemed to police that location inside. As we dine I shared my experience at the Roosevelt Field Mall Friday afternoon. I visited the Apple Store their by appointment for service on my iPhone (It needed a battery replacement, and I found the repair cost-effective.). It was my first time, post COVID visiting that mall...

(Editor’s note: This blog got superseded by “Ruth” last week in recognition of the passing of the true Wonderwoman)
I enjoy recognizing those who make a difference in our communities and the world. This explains my involvement in the Gotham Green Awards®. Established by Gotham City Networking, Inc.® and GOtham GREEN®, the awards recognize people, businesses and organizations that work on environmentally sustainable initiatives and projects. GOtham GREEN® provides a platf...
We are proud of our children and their work. Jonathan works at Guttmacher Institute and Marisa at AJC (American Jewish Committee) New York. Marisa often arranges and participates in meetings with public officials and their staffs who I know and interact with. Jonathan researches and writes studies in the public health sphere, and his latest effort inspired today’s blog: Jonathan is lead author on a study that got published last week in Lancet Global Health.

During this time where we read of folks infected and worse by the Coronavirus COVID-19 and wish and seek healing, I offer a collection of tunes to promote a healthy feeling. I titled it, "Doin' Fine," after my fave Savoy Brown tune, also included in this set.
I enjoyed creating a few playlists this year shared in some prior blogs; indeed I enjoyed almost the entire Song for the Road playlist blogged on last week during a recent road trip and two shorter "runs" in between.

You may know I chair the board of director of Services Now for Adults Person, Inc. (“SNAP”) which also includes two fellow Gothamites – Mindy Stern and Renee Richter on its board. SNAP provides direct services to enhance the quality of life of older adults. Operating senior centers serving northeast and southeast Queens, SNAP also delivers meals on wheels, case management and transportation. Its caregivers program serves about half of the borough of Queens.

This year Earth Day passed without a Gotham Green Awards® advancing it. Even though I was visiting mom in Florida (while Shelly and Marisa visited Paris), Earth Day 2019 did not pass without a constructive message I could release, tweet and post to Facebook and LinkedIn. It just involved bus public transit. Gotham Green® this year held its awards program on May Day, joint with Gotham Construction.

On Earth Day Join GOtham Green® in Celebrating Our GOtham Green Awards® winners
In advance of Earth Day which we observe today, Gotham Green® hosted its annual Gotham Green Awards® the past Thursday at Club Quarters Midtown.
Gotham Green® annually recognizes those who make a difference in our communities and the world by celebrating people and organizations, both Gotham members and non-Gotham members, who work in ways big and small; for-profit and not-for-profit, to make...
Friday evening I received a text from my daughter. She advising taking a DNA report. It involved nothing about confirmation of me as her biological dad. No need to go any further on that thread.
The DNA report she shared advised my daughter’s “genetic muscle composition is common in elite power athletes." I muse back, “It makes me want to get one.” I added, “Wow.” She replied, “Do it!!!”
I suspect Marisa’s interest in DNA emanates from her interest in family genealo...

GREEN RIVER
This blog may tease some. It notes a special announcement that I get to make. Actually many. But in honor of some of the great leakers of news of the current White House, many anonymously memorialized in a book that shot to the top of the charts as this weekend began, no names. This Thursday, Gotham GREEN® announces the recipients of our Gotham Green Awards®. All very worthy. Trust me. I served on the selection committee.
