So I receive a text 4:00 p.m. last Monday afternoon that Fox 5 News seeks to interview a representative of group I am involved with for their telecast that begins just over one hour later. The group's president, Susan Lee, who sent the text, and a former city council member and retired jurist, Kathryn Freed, who we prefer to use a spokespersons, are in transit and cannot do it. I literally just got back to my office from another meeting and advised of my availability. Susan put me in touch with the news producers and they set up a Zoom with reporter Jessica Formoso. The interview morphed into this segment on the station's 5:00 p.m. (actually it started at 5:10 p.m. that day) newscast. Though as a member of the group's Legal and Steering Committees, I discussed a number of points covered in the description below the video, my reported comments emphasized how App-based For Hire Vehicles (including Ubers and Lyfts) replaced private care driven away by the congestion pricing toll (in Manhattan below 60th Street).
I posted the video on the relevant website's media page (see fourth post) and Facebook page linked from it. I also posted it to X (former twitter) and grassroots community Facebook page. I was able to share the video during last week's joint meeting of the Gotham Business POWER Breakfast Group and Gotham Next Level; GBPB Group Coordinator Shelley Simpson shared the video on Fredslist and I shared the video and other posts in a Gotham Promo Friday.
I still hear from people who saw the actual telecast or the subsequent video.
