Spoiler Alert-If you are one of the very few people who do not know how "The Sopranos" ended, and you do not want to know, do not read this blog.

I cannot believe that it has been twenty years since “The Sopranos” first aired. I admittedly only watched the first episode because my Mother told me to. One of the producers of The Sopranos-Brad Grey-was a close friend of my family. I originally checked out the show at my Mother’s request, to see what Brad was up to. I did not expect to immediately get hooked on the show and watch it faithfully every Sunday night.

One fact that speaks so much as to what an incredible show it was is that people, me included, still talk abut the final scene and what it meant. In the final scene that aired June 10, 2007, the Soprano family gathers at a diner while Journey's   "Don't Stop Believin"  plays. When Tony Soprano looks up as his daughter Meadow arrives, the screen goes black before the credits start rolling. The audience was left debating what had happened, including whether Tony Soprano had died.

I’ll never forget my reaction when the screen went black. I jumped and yelled at my husband, “What happened to the tv??” It took a while for me to realize that the black screen was intentional. I, like so many others were left to wonder what it meant. I even tried to use my connections to find out, I had my Mom call Brad’s mom. But the response that came back was, “it means whatever you thought it meant.” Ugh!!!

Were you a Sopranos fan? If so, what did the ending mean to you?
