As I share in every commentary on the second Sunday of May, I enjoy a special benefit of Sunday blogging: I get to wish all the mom’s a special Happy Mother’s Day.
Today, I spend time with mom; my brother Richy visited her yesterday. Our son and his wife hosted his mom and I yesterday between a morning bar mitzvah and evening reception; Jonathan made some real tasty cold brew coffee yesterday. This afternoon we catch up with our daughter at the The Greek Jewish Festival on the Lower East Side; Marisa is staffing it for AJC/New York (American Jewish Committee) which is also a festival sponsor. Our children plan a more formal celebration with their (mom and dad) next weekend; a barbecue of some kind (Note to Friday’s Blogger: it’ll not conflict with the Annual Gotham Battle of the Bands® sponsored by Skody Scot & Company, CPAs PC at Club Groove in Greenwich Village. A side note, tomorrow is the “anniversary” of our 1984 first date, to see “The Leader of the Park” musical, pre-Broadway, at The Bottom Line (a site now occupied by NYU) on West 4th Street at Mercer Street several blocks from this year’s “Battle.”).
So once again on this Mother’s Day – a special benefit of blogging on Sundays, I celebrate my mom, and thank my wonderful and beautiful wife, Shelly (pictured when we celebrated 40 years of marriage earlier this year), the mom of Jonathan and Marisa for being who she is.
