On of my fave bands during high school was Yes. Saw them at Madison Square Garden and the Nassau Coliseum. I particularly loved the LP Close to the Edge (which includes my fave Yes song, And You And I, which provides the title of today's blog) and the live LP, Yessongs. I missed lead singer Jon Anderson the last two times I saw the band in 2009 and 2017. As I recall things, a health issue caused him to miss the first tout; it never became clear to me why he never rejoined the band. The band's current lead singer, Jon Davison, recently "surfaced" as part of Moody Blues bassist John's Lodge's tour I experienced in February. While Marisa and I took in an excellent show Jon Anderson concert last September, we were more than happy to take in his latest tout with" his" Band Geeks last week at Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair (where I earlier saw Lodge). I think it topped the earlier show. He played three new tunes (Counties and Countries, Once Upon A Dream, True Messenger) that sounded just like Yes during its Yessongs heyday. I later downloaded the album that featured his new music, True, in AppleMusic. He also performed three Yes songs not played last year at the Capitol Theater in Portchester (Awaken, Owner of A Lonely Heart, Perpetual Change).
