If you saw the great Animal House flick, you, no doubt, recall the joyous shouts of "Road Trip" and, this past weekend, I did all in my power to replicate that sense of fun and joy.
My college roommate, Stuie Gray, lives in Boston and when he visited us this summer we conjured up the idea that I would visit him, in return, in Boston with my son David and grandson Jackson.
Inasmuch as we are both Baseball fanatics (fans), we came up with the idea of centering the visit upon iconic Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox and the oldest ballpark (circa 1912) in Major League Baseball.
And visit we did, for a fun filled, jam packed, Uber powered, memorable weekend which involved liberal drinking and eating at various establishments, a chilly visit to a Boston Bruins hockey practice, a 4:00 Fenway park Red Sox game against the Detroit Tigers at which the National Anthem was sung in my key (allowing me to bellow along harmoniously), abundant photo ops (example above) and a great 2 family (Stuie's son Gary, daughter Kami and Grandson Dylan joined us) dinner at which our families blended and bonded, in addition to pledging "same time next year" at Camden Yards for a Yankee/Orioles game.
There was more, but I hope you get the gist and feel free to be inspired to organize you own or just exclaim "Road Trip"!
