"Road Trip!"

"Road Trip!"

If you saw the great Animal House flick, you, no doubt, recall the joyous shouts of "Road Trip" and, this past weekend, I did all in my power to replicate that sense of fun and joy.

My college roommate, Stuie Gray, lives in Boston and when he visited us this summer we conjured up the idea that I would visit him, in return, in Boston with my son David and grandson Jackson.

Inasmuch as we are both Baseball fanatics (fans), we came up with the idea of centering the visit upon iconic Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox and the oldest ballpark (circa 1912) in Major League Baseball.

And visit we did, for a fun filled, jam packed, Uber powered, memorable weekend which involved liberal drinking and eating at various establishments, a chilly visit to a Boston Bruins hockey practice, a 4:00 Fenway park Red Sox game against the Detroit Tigers at which the National Anthem was sung in my key (allowing me to bellow along harmoniously), abundant photo ops (example above) and a great 2 family (Stuie's son Gary, daughter Kami and Grandson Dylan joined us) dinner at which our families blended and bonded, in addition to pledging "same time next year" at Camden Yards for a Yankee/Orioles game.

There was more, but I hope you get the gist and feel free to be inspired to organize you own or just exclaim "Road Trip"!

The photo that was posted showed the 7 dwarfs indulging in a Hobbit-like repast after the game on the evening of their Tre Generational quasi “Road Trip” (actually the Klein group arrived via a plane) - please note that there is presently a “Name that Dwarf” contest going on and we encourage all our readers to name (on this thread) each Dwarf. I was the most obvious but nevertheless had a heart warming/heart breaking, one of a kind, experience in which I can still feel the heat from the inner glow - The Song “Glory of the Days Gone By” by Van Morrison has been ringing in my head since the weekend. Thanks Fred - our 66 (on and off) years together has provided many memories.
