[Fredslist] Season of Giving Explained for New Members!

With so many new members in the organization, I thought it might be a GREAT idea 💡 to explain the Season of Giving!

The Gotham City Networking Foundation, Inc <https://gothamfoundation.org/>. is the philanthropic arm of Gotham City Networking! The Gotham Foundation, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization chartered to raise money and donate to worthy causes in furtherance of the giving spirit of Gotham City Networking’s members.

As an annual tradition, Gotham commences our Season of Giving initiative, usually in the 2nd quarter of each year and runs through December.

Members can make tax deductible credit card donations in any denomination and designate a 501(c)(3) organization of their choice (Thank you letter/Receipt will be provided). Each time a member makes an individual donation it is entered into a drawing. The more donations you make, the more chances you and your organization have to be selected. In addition to your donations we have members who sign up as monthly matchers that help "double your money”!

Before our annual holiday party, donations will be pulled "out of a hat" by Gotham accountant Michael Garibaldi (under the scrutiny of Lisa Waterman). The winners are announced at our December Holiday Party and to the entire community on Fredslist.

The great part about this -  if your donation slip is selected, you will get to make the donation to the organization yourself! If you selected a local organization, you’ll be able to meet with their leaders and personally present the check!

Last year, in 2023 the Gotham community collectively raised over $30,000!! We were able to issue 5 grants in the amount of $6,160 each to the organizations indicated on the winning donations!
