Tomorrow is my birthday and over the last 10 years I have developed a tradition of memorializing it with a photo standing next to the applicable highway mile marker.
We "Snow Bird" in Key West which is the southern most point in the continental United States and US Highway 1 begins there at mile marker Zero.
Each year we venture up US 1 to the …
I never thought about it but when it comes time to get rid of furniture I learned the last few weeks its not so easy. We have had some really nice furniture in the living room and the second living room for many years. Its nice, high quality stuff, well made, expensive. But now we got some new furniture. What do you do with the old stuff. We put i …
I had been an avid runner for many years. It's very hard on your body, I had a knee injury which ended my running career. I enjoy swimming as well but also had a rotator cuff injury so that became difficult. Signs of aging, I guess.
Running has been part of my personal narrative for decades. Years ago it was 30 minutes on the “dreadmill” enduring boredom to build strength and endurance.
When I moved to NYC, running became a way to get outside in nature, challenging myself to run all year irrespective of the weather. Never boring - always a source of satisfaction.
I now g …
First, Happy Birthday to all of you celebrating your 15th – 19th birthdays, regardless of your actual age.
Why do we have leap years? Wikipedia will tell you more than you may ever want to know, but basically it has to do with planet rotation and the synchronization of our calendar to the astronomical or seasonal calendar. The other option consid …
Vacations are usually scheduled around the school calendar. Presidents week every February is always a big week then again in April for Easter/Passover and Xmas/New Years. This past week my wife and I had gone with my kids to Florida where we always go. Its amazing there, great weather, although this year was a little cooler than normal but lots o …
We waited all season long. Now we know the 2 teams that will play in the Super Bowl. The 49ers and KC. Some say there was a new franchise this year, The Taylor Swift franchise. It is said that this year Taylor Swift has generated over $300 million for both KC and the NFL just by being present at the games. All the headlines, all the facetime on T …
I try to un-subscribe on a regular basis. I could spend an hour doing it. The emails just keep coming. It seems like i am un-subscribing from the same companies on a regular basis over and over again. If there is a solution out there i have not found it yet. Please help!
For me, email is my nemesis. No matter how many I delete, it seems 10 more show up. I have tried unsubscribing from many services, but they always seem to find a back door in. The main problem with the "junk" mail, is that it buries my essential business email. This has ramped up to the point where I ask my clients to not email me, but to call …
Zoom had been a tool a few years before Covid. Many companies had it linked into your outlook tool bar, but no one used it at the time. Yes, I agree, doesn't matter if you use zoom, teams or webex....your losing your ability to engage with people on a personal level and build relationships. It hurts in the long run. Zooming is convenient, you can zoom back-to-back for hours. But are you really getting the same productivity in the end?
Do you Zoom?
Could you function without Zoom?
Did Zoom even exist pre pandemic? I know not, but what I do know is that it saved many of us during the pandemic. Sanity and otherwise.
No doubt, we could not have stayed connected without it, but that was then and this is now.
I wonder, has "Big Brother" condition us with Zoom to become lazy a …
