When Personal Becomes Professional
Posted By : Rona Gura

I was reminded recently of the personal experiences we sometimes bring to our professional experience.   As many of you know, I became a divorce lawyer after going through my own personal divorce. In making the change, I felt that my personal experiences going through my own divorce would enhance my work as a divorce attorney. I believed that my pe

I AM the immigrant! I came by myself following my own dream. I didn't know about the American Dream. I'll tell my family story another time.

Family
Posted By : Nancy Schess

Anyone who knows me at all, knows how important family is in my world.  It is not just about those in my immediate circle.  I appreciate all family – mine and everyone else’s too.   I also appreciate being a student of family.  I am always taken with how our ancestors came to be together from generations before.   I will tell a story – and one that

New Car (for my wife)
Posted By : Daniel Schwartz

There is always something special about getting a new car, be it leased or more so, in my opinion, when getting one that is purchased for the long haul. My wife’s 2017 Subaru Forester XT (turbo and very sporty for an SUV) was a special purchase for us when we traded in our last family minivan as we downsized a bit. Back then, we cross shopped many

I don' walk as much as I used to but my "no matter what" activity is trapeze lessons and practice and handstands. Age has nothing to do with it!

Running Narrative
Posted By : Shelley Simpson

Running has been part of my personal narrative for decades.  Years ago it was 30 minutes on the “dreadmill” enduring boredom to build strength and endurance.   When I moved to NYC, running became a way to get outside in nature, challenging myself to run all year irrespective of the weather. Never boring - always a source of satisfaction.    I now g

Nancy, like you, I've been reading articles. But my friends recommended The Heaven And Earth Grocery Store, so I'm about to read that. My current favorite, that actually managed to read, is The Girl Who Fell Below The Sea, a fairy story based on Korean folklore. Beautiful, inspiring and easy to read on the plane!

Time for a Good Read
Posted By : Nancy Schess

I am ready – and if I’m lucky, maybe I will have a little time to read a book.   I’m afraid I have to admit I don’t remember the last time I had enough free time to read a whole book.  I love to read, but these days tend to read articles, short pieces, magazines, that sort of thing.  I am itching now for a good book.   And so, its survey time!   W

Wow, David, you reading all of these? I was an English major too, but I haven't reread my favorites from that time. I'm impressed!

Vacation
Posted By : Shawn Bernabeu

Vacations are usually scheduled around the school calendar. Presidents week every February is always a big week then again in April for Easter/Passover and Xmas/New Years.  This past week my wife and I had gone with my kids to Florida where we always go. Its amazing there, great weather, although this year was a little cooler than normal but lots o

A change is gonna come
Posted By : Corey Bearak

Probably not fair to borrow the title of the iconic song by Sam Cooke for the change I currently face. It really only affects me. The solution also evidenced how relationships matter and how pro bono involvements can offer unintended and unexpected benefits. I returned a call Friday from Jim who runs the servers that hosts four websites that rea

Are we done with winter?
Posted By : Mitch Tobol

Is that it? I can't help but wonder if the sparse snowfall we've experienced is all we're getting this season.   Climate patterns are shifting, and with them, our expectations of seasonal norms. Only time will tell.   I may have to move to Buffalo.

Text into video
Posted By : Mitch Tobol

We are in the midst of the lightning fast changes in Artificial intelligence. Right now I can type a simple sentence into only AI video apps such as invideo.ai  and in a few minutes, it creates a 2 minute video. As an example I just created this video about Gotham starting at 7:15Am this morning. It took 10 minutes for the software to create and pr
