On Sunday I viewed the Oppenheimer movie for the second time.  This time in IMAX and, to be honest, it was not the spectacular experience I was lead to anticipate.

Yes, the sound was pronounced and surrounding, but is was not the "so much more" I was led to believe would be delivered.  It was just louder with surround pounding.

Nonetheless, the second viewing of this extraordinary 3+ hour movie was worth it.

It is just great in so many ways, eg, many actors will be nominated for awards.

If you haven't seen it, it's a wonderful "can't miss" movie with an even greater historical story.

Oppenheimer (Oppie to his friends) was a significant and memorable genius!

I'm glad to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed the movie and found it excellent in many ways. Personally, I haven't been to the movies in over a decade, so it's impressive that you were able to sit through a 180-minute film. Kudos to you for your dedication and commitment to experiencing such a lengthy movie!

I remember reading a biography on Oppenheimer and Trinity when I was in college. Left a very lasting impression on me.

The high volume has kept me away from the movie theaters for a long time. Glad you enjoyed the movie - twice!

Have heard a lot about it, but is still in my "list to view" - will try to change that status based on your suggestion sooner rather than later

Great movie.
Experience it in a theater while you still can. This movie demands your full attention.
Home viewing anything for 3 hours without checking your phone is impossible!
