As I post this blog, late with apologies, I realized that I am one day behind, thinking today was Tuesday.... My work life has always been hectic, and I feel fortunate to have this problem, but at times, it causes me to get behind schedule and stay very late in the office or even work from home into the wee hours.  That being said, this disruption in the sleep patterns causes memory lapses.   One thing I have learned throughout my life, is that my reputation is won or lost on my taking ownership.  So today, the lesson is...
I carry a small card case that doubles as a wallet.  It comes in handy.
How do you put on your shoes?   This became a topic of discussion after my husband watched me put on sneakers last week. I put on my right sock and then the right sneaker. I then proceeded to put on the left sock and then, the left sneaker.   I was told I was doing it wrong. That I should be putting both sneakers on first and, after I have both socks on, I should put on my shoes. That way, he told me, at least I would have both feet covered.
Today culminates a special week for my clan.  It started with Shelly taking a ride on her new bike transported for the first time via a bike rack.  Then we learn of our son Jonathan's promotion at Guttmacher Institute to Principal Research Scientist, Modeling & Analytics.
Music can transcend generations. I listen to a lot of different styles of music at my time at the wheel and often catch myself smiling when I connect with a piece of music that reminds me of certain places and moments.   Music's universal language bridges gaps that can pass down emotions, stories, and memories. All of us can find common ground in melodies. And find connections in making music a shared experience.
In recent blogs I have proudly featured my grandson, Shawn Atom, and his growth as a guitar playing rock n' roller.  This blog is an "Equal Time" venture in pride featuring his younger sister, Ruby Ella.
Last Thursday, I had the honor and privilege of leading the Third annual “Gotham Pizza Crawl,” this time held in Forest Hills, Queens.  One of my favorite aspects of the crawls are that each one is unique, special and different!
It’s been almost five years since I was at a live concert. As a young adult I frequented various venues with my high school friends that lasted a nice amount of time from the early 1980’s to the early 2000’s. I think over the recent years, my friends and I all moved and family life with different interest in music, may have put the brakes on encounters. The pandemic closed the door for a while. Moving down south further made it more difficult.
