I recently attended an outdoor networking event and had the experience of meeting someone in person I've only met on Zoom. It was quite strange.


Being in their physical presence is a totally different kind of energy. You're meeting the entire person, not just a Hollywood Square on your computer screen.

I see you

 

It felt a bit awkward at first then it seemed to find its' own way. I left with a very different impression of who they are.

I was in the matrimonial center, the divorce section of Nassau Supreme Court this week. I haven't been there since March, 2020. Being there physically was very uplifting. I ran from court room to court room saying hello to all the clerks and secretaries. It was weird though, with the mask I had to tell some of the people who I was. . .

I know what you mean. For years I have been meeting people who I have only see in photos and spoken to on the phone. It's like you know them and don't know them at the same time.

I liken it to times I meet folk who only know me from posting or commenting.
