Don't call

Our government has a National Do Not Call Registry which is supposed to limit the amout of telephone solicitations you received.

But there seems to be something amiss. Since registering my cell number, I've gotten more calls lately, robo or otherwise trying to sell me something. Does anybody else have this same experience?

It's interesting when the call comes in and it shows the city and state it's from. I often look at it wondering if I know anybody from there. It can also be quite frustrating.

Maybe they should change the list from Do Not Call to Go Ahead And Call Anytime You want :)

I remember when you had to answer phone to know who was calling

I generally do not answer an unknown cell # (meaning you need to have yourself and your cell or phone # in my contacts or it goes to voice mail (if you leave a message.). I googled #s and found they are calls that should be blocked and and block such #s on my cell. I prefer folks to call my land line in any event. It neither rings nor vibrates by design.

Weren't the do-not-call lists temporary, for something like 5 years? Perhaps you have to renew?

When I got my land line # 30 yrs ago, it was a private unlisted #, now thanks to tech, everyone on the planet has access!
