It's the day after Christmas and there are new toys to be played with, clothes to be tried on, books to read and instructions to consult.

 

I was given a new beard trimmer, beard balm, handmade knit hat, golf club cleaning kit, book on the 500 best golf holes (looks like a bucket list to me ;), water bottle and a small leather bound book to keep my golf scores (especially when I beat Norm).

 

The best gift I received were hugs from the people I love and care about. To me it's not about the things I get but the thoughts and feelings I share.

We spend the day nearby also in Bellerose with friends who host many of our close friends (in that circle) for Xmas. Find the scorebook gift cool (even though I am moving more and more records to e-formats) as the visual reminder of frequent success works.

This year was different. It was more of a season to be thankful. There was much less indulgence and plenty of love ,immediate family , warmth and good food. It has been a year of enormous challenge and ultimate reward. Putting life into GREAT perspective and welcoming a new grandson. My family and my wife trump everything. When I climb under the covers each night with Diane I am the most greatful man alive and NOTHING is taken for granted! HAPPY hOLIDAYS AND God Bless

I always say I received my best Christmas gift 16 years ago when Jerry and I went on our first date; it was on December 23rd. However, this year we surprised each other with the same gift, a pair of Penguin slippers. LOL We exchanged other gifts; but the slippers brought us the most laughs. There are pictures on FaceBook for those who want to see the slippers.
