One of the aspects of watching the Mets on TV is that, in addition to watching the action on the field, you get to watch the fans in the stands watching the game. When the Mets are away, watching fans takes on an especially heightened level of aggravation, annoyance, empathy or joy.
  I live in East Harlem, on E 120th Street. While still stereotypical, a sad & decidedly atypical incident took place down the block last night. It hits home on many levels.

We are getting the grandchildren for Halloween this year. They are staying the weekend. Beth, who will be three in December, is going to be a ballerina. Little Noah, who will turn one tomorrow, will wear a cute little pumpkin costume.

For instance:  1) Computers, the Internet-social media2) No Smoking in restaurants, etc.3) Legalized Abortion4) integration (Obama)5) Gay rights6) World wide economy (foreign cars)7) Beatles-Stones8) Global warming (flooding)9) Cable TV10) Sushi11) Walmart, Home Depot12) Renewed racial unrest-gun violence And then there are zip and bar codes, cell phones, GPS, the Designated Hitter and what else?
Mr. Moskowitz, my seventh-grade Math teacher, was a nice enough guy, and a pretty good teacher. One thing that annoyed us, as students, were his “surprise quizzes”. The quizzes invariably came on Mondays - but not every Monday (otherwise where’s the surprise?).
