Ready, or not

Last year at this time, I opened my “outside office” (or is it “outdoor office”). The weather was not quite conducive then but I like things to be in place. That remains to happen this year; I still hope it occurs this month. Meanwhile, umbrellas and seat pads, fan, and chaise lounges remain in the shed; and the monitor I deploy outside sits inside

A game
Posted By : Corey Bearak

Yesterday's plans adjusted a bit.  The rain played no role.  Technology did. Any maybe the change allowed me some time to teach my grandnephew to play a simple strategic game: checkers.  Simply spur of the moment after dinner, I asked the young's if he wanted to play.  He expressed sufficient interest to bring up the game on my iPad.  Worked out ni

Live v. Zoom

We often call our Gotham Network which hosts this blog a tribe.  The success of two meetings last  evidences that moniker.  I enjoyed two breakfast time networking meetings on successive mornings last week.  One meeting I chaired virtually; the other I participated in-person.  Each had its benefits.  I saw and interacted with people I enjoy, do som

Open Air Driving returns

On Sunny days I might slide back the cover to the moon roof on our 'blue car" and let the 'shine in when I drive; there were some opportunities when the week began.  But I really got to enjoy some short drives with the moon roof open as the weekend ended.  It was something missing with the prior blue vehicle and an important attribute of this one.

No Seder at home

No Seder at home this Passover   There may not have been a year since our marriage that when we remained in New York that Shelly and I did not host a Passover Seder.  On quick recall I cannot recollect since our home was the only “space” large enough to accommodate her family.  Yeah we enjoyed Seders away from home than when we visited Marisa when

First off thank you to substitute bloggers Mike Steger and Reliable Ray Walcott who "covered" for me while my family and I enjoyed our time traveling in Israel and for one day in Jordan.  A special THANK YOU to Gotham's travel agent, Laura Avital, who arranged and organized -- perhaps "curated" betters represents things -- special experiences throu

I enjoy driving.  My vehicle offers amenities; most important beyond a safe vehicle include the sun roof and cars to my entire musical library. The makes for an enjoyable experience, barring traffic conditions.  And that gets to the point: the so many drivers who make driving a less enjoyable.  if you do any of this, please stop: *racing *weavin

A coincidence...perhaps

No secret how proud Shelly and I are proud of our children (and our daughter in law too).  When we gathered last night for dinner I toasted Jonathan and Marisa for their recent achievement.  This weekend I tweeted (see pic upper right)-- twice, last night and Friday -- about proud parent moments:   Jonathan -- published again -- this time in Studi

Who's Calling?
Posted By : Corey Bearak

In this era where it seems (and maybe it's reality) that we receive more bogus, phishing, sales and solicitation calls than calls from those we know, I long opted to answer, "Who's calling."  Where I recognize the number as legit I answer the call with "This is Corey" or if the caller ID makes clear I know the caller,  i often state hi or hello (na

A Season to Believe

Next weekend, Saturday to be exact, after several days of team members, prospects, and some just hoping to gain a spot on my favorite baseball team gather in Port St. Lucie, actual games -- the Spring training variety -- commence. That prospect certainly excites this correspondent. How can you not after viewing that commercial during the Superbowl
