After being in a relationship for a long, very long, time, sometimes the small things speak louder than the large ones.  You know what I’m talking about.  Those small acts of kindness and caring that feel as special as two dozen roses felt early on.

Don’t get me wrong – I am a fan of two dozen roses and big displays of caring.  But as more time passes, the small things become more and more significant.

You all know that I write my blogs late on Monday night.  I’ve shared before that for years on Monday nights my family would scatter to the corners of the house out of fear that as I was searching for a topic, my pen might find them.

It isn’t that I don’t think of topics all week long. It’s just that they flitter and float and often just don’t stick.

Last week, Bill and I were out, and I had one of those blog idea bursts -- after which, he took out his phone.  When I asked what Bill was doing, he explained that he had started a note on his phone to keep track of my Blog bursts for me to help minimize the ongoing Monday night experience.

A small act of kindness that I will lean into next week – because this week I had a different blog to share.
