Since I was young, I have been compelled to take pictures (pics in modern parlance).  First on film and now updated to digital.

My iPhone camera allows for "in the moment" candid shots, instant editing and is cost free.  Not to mention the ability to share and upload to the internet.

Can you believe, I have nearly 70,000 pics on my phone, in addition to my hard copy photo albums dating back to the 1960s.

Periodically, I pull out an album and leaf through it.  Invariably, I strike gold, which I happily share with those pictured.

With this as context, above is one of my early photos which dates itself.

As Dean sang, memories are made of this :)

My dad was a photography hobbyist. I still have his 1950 twin lens rolleiflex, which I took with me on a two week hike in the High Sierra, and the John Muir trail, along with xeroxes of Ansel Adams B&W photos, hoping (with limited success) to emulate some of his famous photos. Although I had the film processed by the local camera store, I printed the pics in the darkroom in my garage! No more chemical processing: all digital, but I do some printing on a good quality Canon printer.

PS. Is your picture from the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing?

A couple of years ago you sent me some of us at my parents' house back in the day. I have misplaced them in the meanwhile. Shows you how bad my retrieval system is. They were wonderful.

I love my phone camera too, and while I have a LOT of pictures on my phone, I don't have 70,000. Man, your phone must be really heavy with all of those pictures on it.
How do you manage stairs?

While looking for a pix of my folks to send a nephew for the obligatory bar mitzvah video for his son I found an almost 60 year old photo of a work pal and me in DC. I texted her, we lunched and laughed. Old photos, old friends, good NEWS.

World's Fair 1964. 70,000 pics? Your phone must have lots of memory and memories.
