I was on the phone, with my sister-in-law this week, discussing an issue I that was having with a colleague at work. I loved something she said to me and chose to share it in my blogspace. In response to one of my complaints she told me, “Perhaps you should tell that person that their head should be where their feet are.”

In other words, try to take a moment to appreciate where you are before worrying about what is going to happen next. Wise advice.

Is your head where your feet are?

I think elsewhere it might be called "getting grounded" (But not the reference to being punished).

Never heard that before and better than another reference.

Good advice. For some time now I've purposely focused on doing one thing at a time...finish that one thing and then move to the next. No stopping to answer email, texts or calls, except emergencies or really good news. :) Making this small change has led me to enjoy and appreciate where I am, what I'm doing and what I'm accomplishing rather than constantly worrying about what comes next.

Great advice that should be taken more often for us older folks. I think many Millennials are "too" focused on the moment and need to think about the future more (especially referring to their future finances and well being).

Great advice... Another: take a moment to breathe and "take a step away from the Issue" Sometimes taking that extra step away will take the heat out of the situation -- and perhaps allow one to see the issue with a slightly different perspective. Just a thought...
