Its a Small World After All

Many say that the internet has made the world smaller by allowing us to easily communicate with people who are far away. For me, the internet has also made it possible to recreate foreign experiences in  my home.

For instance, while in New Orleans I fell in love with the coffee, mixed with chicory, served at The Café Du Monde and bought a few cans to bring home. When our supply of the coffee began to run low, I did a quick search on the internet and found the coffee sold on Amazon. One click later and I’m again enjoying my Café Du Monde coffee and chicory on weekend mornings.

Similarly, while in San Diego, my husband I went hot air ballooning. I know it’s shocking that I even went but I really enjoyed it. We landed in the early morning at a vineyard whose specialty was almond champagne. Although it was too early for the vineyard to be open, our balloon “pilots” served us each a glass of the almond champagne. Its taste was very different from anything I had ever tasted before. When we got home, again I did a quick search on the internet and two weeks later a few bottles of almond champagne were at our door.

Last night my husband commented that he missed the coffee we had purchased while in Hawaii. Guess what will be delivered to his office this week?

Am I missing anything? What do you buy on the internet?
