A few weeks back, Bill and I had dinner with some new friends.  We were all just getting to know each other.  When one shared about her children, my first question was – where do your children live?

A little while later we both laughed at my perspective.  Both of my grown children live in far away states.  Air travel is definitely required. (Well, maybe not required but definitely preferable given the distances).  I miss them – and I am pretty sure they miss us too.  So, my perspective is skewed by my experience, and I am often listening for others whose children are close by. 

The good news is that my children both enjoy coming home, as much as we enjoy visiting with them – anywhere.  And so, our July 4^th weekend was spent with special time with our son.  Lots of eating, laughing, reminiscing, planning – and of course, a baseball game with Gotham on a hot Saturday afternoon.
