Food hacks are all the rage. To me, a food hack is a new or different way to prepare or serve food. Recently, while on the Weight Watchers app, I watched a video of a celebrity chef demonstrate a truly different way to prepare caramelized onions. I had to try it.

Essentially, the recipe involved taking a whole, unpeeled onion and giving it a light coating of olive oil and salt. You then wrap the onion in tin foil and put it in the oven at 350 degrees. The chef said you then let it cook for one hour. When I took my onion out after an hour, it wasn’t cooked enough for me. I had to put it back in the oven for, at least, another half hour.

I’m not sure this food hack was very successful for me but it won’t stop me from trying others. Do you have a favorite food hack you can share?

Happy holidays Gotham!!!
