Let me start with best wishes for the new year. I hope I helped a bit to get you ready with last week’s blog highlighting my song list to ring in the new year which also exists in a YouTube playlist. (If you tire of music since two weeks ago I covered my Holiday song playlist and last week I shared concerts I streamed driving to a Chanukah gathering, you better consider stopping now!)

For the past seven new year’s eves, I compose a different list.

A top ten list.

Also related to music.

This time I review my fave concerts of the year just ending (ended).

Generally, I get it done and posted, sometimes with typos I correct later, just before we go out to celebrate with friends. I later blog about it in summary form as I did last year here.

So please check out Corey’s Top 10 2017 Concerts and let me know what you think.

To whet your appetite I will list the show/ performers sans commentary, date and venue:

1) Timothy B. Schmit and Richie Furay

2) Squeeze

3) The Moody Blues

4) The Gregg Allman Laidback Festival Jackson Browne, Steve Winwood, Peter Wolff, Garland Jeffries, Scott Sharrard, and Jai Johanny Johanson’s Jassz Band.

5) Dave Mason, Poco, Jesse Colin Young, Aztec Two Step

6) Jim Messina

7) Kinky Boots

8-9) Yes, Todd Rundgren, Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy

10) The Romantics, The Baha Men

I’ll note the honorable mention since it enjoys a real Gotham hook: my brother Robby playing at the last of Gotham Power Breakfast member Curt Arnel’s 2017 Sunday evening Jams. Indeed performances by Curt opened and closed my year (Curt’s band, Off The Record, was a top winner (again) at my first 2017 show, Gotham’s Battle of the Bands). One Gotham hook I did not mention was Paul Napolitano advising me how much he likes the venue where Squeeze played – I agree and hope to enjoy other shows there!

So check out my reviews and share your views in the comments below and/ or share your own highlights.
