Saying it out loud

I recently received an email from a client that stopped me in my tracks.

They wrote:

“I just wanted to share the tremendous impact you are having, not only on me but on the entire team. Each week, the knowledge, accountability, structure, guidance, and mentorship you bring make a meaningful difference and contribute greatly to our experience and success.

I wanted you to know how much it is appreciated. You are a superb partner.”

I read it more than once.

When you run a business, people usually tell you when something is wrong. You hear about missed deadlines, results that fell short, or problems that need fixing. That feedback is important, but positive feedback is much rarer.

Most satisfied clients simply continue working with you. You don’t always know what kind of impact you’re having.

This email gave me a chance to see our work through the client’s eyes. It reminded me that what we provide goes beyond marketing strategy and deliverables. The knowledge, accountability, guidance, and partnership matter too.

I also realized that we often don't tell people how much we appreciate them.

Even though someone is doing a great job and you're grateful for their help, we tend to move on with our day without ever saying it.

So, if someone is making a positive difference in your business or your life, tell them. They may need to hear it more than you realize.
