Apple Sauce has a special place for us. For years, Flo and I have been making apple sauce. It is expected that we will bring a fresh batch to family dinners and we wouldn’t dare visit our grandchildren in Washington and Alexandria without containers for all.
There is something special about our apple sauce. It’s never the same. The combinations of apples is never the same and, except for a few secret ingredients, the final product is the result of whatever variety of apples is available. (The next batch will be very special because we were delivered apples handpicked by our grandchildren.)
There is one thing about apple sauce — it always makes you smile.
