Yes, we are "Snowbirds" (northerners who move to a warmer southern state to escape Winter) and we have been escaping in Paradise (Key West) for four warm, fun filled, months and, truth be told, as I write this, I am sad to leave.
But leave we must as Family and an alternative, full, abundant life awaits us in Springtime New York.
As I looked around the table at the 19 Gothamites and guests in the dining room deep below street level on East 54th Street, I thought about all the years of in-person Gotham networking meetings.
I start most days early and almost all of my work – in fact a good bit of my life - is online via phone, zoom, and various chats and apps. To connect with the West Coast, I am often online at night too, making for long and productive days. My time spent looking at the screen - both on the phone and computer - has gotten longer. Picking up and looking at the phone is second nature, and while it is a wonderful tool, the phone can also create an unwanted distraction.
Every year, I look forward to the kick off of spring and the move to my deck. Working outside in my backyard is my happy place.
So tomorrow is April 29; 4/29 if use we use just numbers. When I went to post today’s blog, I was greeted by a message (see upper left) that I have 428 posts (Today is 4/28.). That means the blog that post today is #429. A coincidence. Any significance. Something to ponder.
We are at the cusp, an inflection point and Mustafa Suleyman, the AI CEO at Microsoft, has a new vision for the future of AI that is worth listening to. I would suggest watching this YouTube video to hear his point of view and the impact this technology will have.

Cuba Libre is my favorite 5:00 adult beverage while I am in Key West. For those unfamiliar, it is a mix of rum, coke and a squeeze of lime. To say the least it tickles my fancy. Especially when sipped from an old fruit jar :) Allegedly, it was named at the dawn of the 20th Century by an American Captain stationed in Havana during the Spanish-American War who hoisted it while toasting "Por Cuba Libre" ("To a free Cuba") and just like that a catchy appellation was born!
