I may have to stop second-guessing my GPS. I recently was instructed by my GPS to take what seemed to me to be a roundabout way to get on a nearby highway. Ignoring the GPS suggestion, I took my more-direct route and was shocked into humble reality when I saw that my “more-direct” route was snarled in stop and go traffic. As I wound my way through side streets to get to the highway, the friendly voice kept making suggestions as the GPS repeatedly recalculated my route.
The information highway has thrust upon us an onslaught of propoganda. It used to be that the propoganda was contained by the radio, TV, newspapers or billboards and focused on politics and selling soft drinks. It must be a boastful and intractable position.
If you are on Long Island and read the story, it happened Sunday afternoon at the pool at Syosset-Woodbury Park. 44 years old and in his prime, leaving his wife and two children. Think wearable art is cool...now in addition to Google Glass, an Indian company is going to start selling shoes that sync up with a smartphone app that uses Google maps and vibrates to tell you where to turn.
Last Friday night the partners of the firm went to Rao's for some special after hours fun. Why "Where's Waldo"? Because my 4 law partners are female as is our Office Manager and my life (wife) partner. So see if you can find Waldo in the above picture of my law and life partners. For sure, the staff and patrons at Rao's regarded me as the lucky man I am!Cue "Glory Days" or any other tune which catches my mood!
The Gay Head Lighthouse in Aquinnah on the westernmost tip of Martha’s Vineyard is being moved inland. The historic lighthouse, which has stood on its present spot since 1856, is in danger of falling into the sea as the cliffs to its north and west are eroding.
