Gothamites Laurel Scarr-Konel and Crysti Farra brought Tuscany Italy to Gotham on Tuesday night in the form of an entertaining sommelier- Gabriele Salvatori and an amazing sampling of wines from the Tenuta Torciano Winery in San Gimignano.About 25 of us were treated to a fine selection of wines, light fare (to accompany the wines), and bread (to sample the olive oil, truffle oil and balsamic vinegar).
Anyone else feel like this year is going particularly fast?
Google continues to amaze me.   My husband and I were discussing clubs we used to go to in the 70’s/80’s. I was talking about one club I used to enjoy going to in Valley Stream. I could not, however, remember the name.   My husband said to me, “Just google, clubs in Valley Stream in the 70’s.” I looked at him very skeptically and googled it just to placate him. To my surprise there was a list of clubs including the one I was thinking of, The Back Barn.

Inspiration is a sacred revelation. It can be described as exhilarating, exciting, and can lead to incredible ideas. This heightened sense goes farther when you involve other people, as often happens in my creative meetings. If you have an open mind and heart, you will find it wherever you go.
To lose favor or a position of power or honor is a fall from grace.   Last weekend a hot shot, flashy football player, who happens to be the son of his coach "Neon" Deion Sanders, was expected and expected to be one of the top 3 National Football League draft picks.  Namely, Sheduer (Light of the Almighty) Sanders, the star Colorado QB.   He was ready to be coronated, but pick after pick his status and stock shrunk and after the second day of the draft (and 102 picks) he was fallow in free fall.
As I glanced out the window a few days ago, I saw a bumblebee hopping from bud to bud in the morning sunshine. The first bumblebee I had seen this Spring…and I smiled in the secure understanding that Nature would keep us grounded.
My son Joe is going to graduate High School in less than a month. He thinks he would like to go for Mechanical Engineering as a major. Joe has of late, not been a great student grade wise as “senioritis” kicked in early in the term, and he has let his grade point average dip a bit. That and his lack of focus has made it tough for his parents to support this given his recent history. But as his parents, we have to.
