Last week’s blog “released” a list of holiday-themes tunes for the season we currently enjoy. Not sure everyone seeks to hear those themes but certainly they predominate on radio dials. My ears and sometimes my eyes focused elsewhere when I chose music.
After shopping at one of the suburban malls last night, I stepped out into the snowy slippery parking lot. Although I was in the mall a half hour at most, I needed to brush of the snow and scrape the ice off my car. A beautiful cold wintry night to be sure.   As my car rumbled to life I was grateful for the seat heater and heated steering wheel. Two great inventions everyone needs to experience at least once.
In these politically charged, truth is stranger than fiction, Twilight Zone, days I find myself hoping, writing and saying there will be a Day of Reckoning. The definition of "day of reckoning" is the time when past mistakes or misdeeds must be punished or paid for, a testing time when the degree of one's success or failure will be revealed.
Reflections from the subway. I am an occasional subway rider. However, I was on the subway yesterday. Walking in the tunnels connecting the Times Square stations. I could not help but think about the incident on Monday. The planned bomb that, thankfully, did not cause the intended result. I am confident that I will continue to take subways. I’m less confident that the thoughts will ever abate. A new reality accepted.
As I'm writing this, the voting is going on in Alabama. I'm concerned that the outcome will be difficult, when you read this, you will already know. So, as always, its healthy to remember ALL the great good that goes on in the world.
Yesterday was not an ordinary day, but unfortunately, it was one that has become all too uncomfortably common.
I was so saddened by the news last week of the death of David Cassidy. He truly was my first child hood crush.
One starts in two days, another in two weeks; others also this month too.  And so to ring in the season I release an updated version (all links work at time of posting) of Happy Holidays in song Enjoy!
