Kindness

When you boil it down to its essence, kindness is the well spring of humanity.

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate, characterized by intentional, voluntary acts that bring joy or alleviate suffering in others.

One could say the Gotham mantra "It's better to give than receive..." is steeped in kindness. I know when I'm living it I feel good and empowered.

My father introduced me to another aspect. When he had a dispute or disagreement with someone he counseled against divisive confrontation. Rather, he advised, "Conquer them with Kindness"!

I suppose he knew "What goes around comes around" :)

It's the intentionality that escapes people; it's what makes kindess different from being "nice.". Do you think that being kind feels good because intentionality generates energy and it is the energy we feel? I wish there were more of it.
