Nachas and Tradition

Nachas and Tradition

This weekend, we will shep nachas. “Shep nachas” is a Yiddish term meaning to derive, scoop up, or experience immense pride and pleasure from the achievements or behavior of someone close to you, typically a child, grandchild or student.

Tradition. So important.

This Saturday our oldest grandchild celebrates his Bar Mitzvah. A continuation of our tradition. Surrounded by family, friends and community, Jackson will take on the responsibilities of an adult in the tradition of our family.
We’ll watch, participate and shep nachas.
And we will honor our place as a conduit channeling our parents as they channeled their parents before us.
It is our obligation to tradition as we shep nachas.
