Weathering the winter
Yesterday’s blogger aka Gotham’s webmaster noted how the snow and cold affected many, including people choosing not to navigated outside their abodes. I fully understand that. I also notice a significant difference as a homeowner much more advanced in age dealing with the aftermath of of a heavy snow storm and frozen cold. Apart from age (experience?), changes include multiple trash containers (two for recycling, one for yard and food waste, one for all other trash) in place of one that need to be placed our for collection and barely enough curb space free (cleared?) from snow to facilitate collection from Sanitation workers; more neighbors with multiple cars on a street lacking sufficient off-street parking; more frequent snow-plowing of streets require more frequent digging out one’s car and creating paths to the street and to at least the driver’s side front door, and some property-owners to more frequently to create paths (TOO MANY JUST DO NOT!) so pedestrians can use sidewalks and not walk street to get access to stores and bus routes. What I describe suggests giving consideration to adjusting one’s living arrangements if the current neighborhood no longer offers sufficient accessibility if these conditions persist.
I enjoy my home and made it a great place to hang but as pointed out in yesterday’s thoughtful blog no one wants to be locked in with little ability to get around.
When you invest in your neighborhood in more than just a pecuniary way, it makes for anything but easy decisions on moving forward.
P.S. with the Super Bowl just a week away, I share that the first sheet of boxes to support my Kings-FDR Tolerance Foundation's charity pool sold out and a new sheet, not pre-numbered, is available for anyone interest. See pic at left for example.

Good luck Thursday!
We are experiencing…
We are experiencing unusually cold weather as well in Florida. It was 26 degrees when I got up and it won't get past 40 for a few hours. We were all helping neighbors bring in potted plants and covering with plastic smaller trees. We came together and got it done.
