Recently I was going down a one-way street in the wrong direction and a passing driver called me out for it. Without thinking I heard myself say “but I’m left-handed“ and the driver laughed.

As you know I am left-handed and think on the right side of my brain. Whether or not being  left handed isUp and Down the reason for it, as you may know, I do not stifle my unconventional impulses. Thus, my catchphrase “Up is down and down is up“.

I say it often and somebody is listening, because sometimes when I make an off-the-wall observational comment Gotham webmaster Mitch Tobol responds “up is down and down is up” to my secret satisfaction.

My thought of the day is to encourage everyone to think out-of-the-box, be creative and not be weighed down by convention as “Up is down and down is up”!

My artist wife Joanne put a bow on it by adding “Upside down, inside out”.

The answer to the problem is not where you might expect it to be.

Just this morning was journaling about thinking out of the box. Timely.

Love it! As Diana Ross (and Jo) said. . . . Upside down, Boy you turn me, inside out and round and round. . . . Happy Friday!

A cop stopped me for going the wrong way. I said I was only going one way. He said didn’t you see the arrow. I said I didn’t even see the Indians

The problem today is getting out of the middle. Fear and being chastised for thinking outside the box. Let's break the boxes down and just think freely again.

Though I mentioned this recently, worth quoting again from Alice in Wonderland: “I dare say you haven’t had much practice” said the Queen to Alice.
“Sometimes I think of six impossible things before breakfast.”

My daughter is left handed and doesn't stifle her impulses either. Might be the beginning of a study here. . .

Or is it No Means Yes Day ? Stepping outside the box and asking the home plate umpire for a time out . Thinking outside the box . It’s the key to real success . If one finds themselves in a highly regulated environment it’s hard to dodge the rules and regulations . In my lifetime I’ve strayed from the norm often enough . I long ago threw away the policy and procedures manual . I got my reputation for completing the mission . Regardless of the obstacles. Contingency thinking . No surprises . No aberration to throw me off track . I’m in the air . 300 people on board . .Thick Tule Fog suddenly blankets the European continent . I had put on 50, 000 pounds of extra fuel . I could hold over Lisbon for 2 1/2 hours if I had to . Fuel is brains I told my co-pilot . Deviate from the establishment . It’s a feel good thing .
