Several of my friends often plan Uber nights. It's essentially a plan to drink and let Uber drive you around. Everyone can drink and not worry about driving home.

Well here's an interesting result of an Uber night as reported by SkyNews. A drunk Uber user was hit with a $1,635 bill after falling asleep and embarking on a 300-mile journey across three states.

Kenny Bachman, after a night out with friends in Morgantown, West Virginia decided to get Uber to take him back to where he was staying, near West Virginia University's campus.

After getting inside the vehicle, he quickly passed out. He woke up two hours later to find the driver was instead taking him to his home - in Gloucester Cunty, New Jersey, more than 300 miles away.

Mr Bachman could not remember ordering the Uber and could not work out why a random man was driving him. To make matters worse, he had ordered an UberXL, which can hold up to six passengers but costs more than the usual ride.

The fare worked out to $1,635.93  - a $3.94 base fare, a $2.35 booking fee, $696.95 for distance and $115.90 for time. The surge pricing then doubled almost everything.

Bachman said, "Once the ride ended and I saw how much it was then I was like 'Alright, this is insane, that's just crazy'." He accused the Uber driver of using his phone and said he even had to get money to repay the driver for the tolls they had gone through along the way.

So next time you plan on an Uber night, make sure you have a designated person that orders the Uber.
