I wanted to follow up on Mitch’s blog on Saturday. He wrote a moving blog asking us to “pause for a moment and ask yourself what happened to you over the past week that gave you a moment of joy.”
I responded with a small moment that changed my life. I knew my now husband for several years as my daughter’s friend’s father. The first time I looked at him in a way, other than Ryan’s father, happened when he and I were at a bar mitzvah together. I knew who he was but that's as far as it went. He was across the room, speaking to a mutual friend. All of a sudden I saw him laugh, a deep joyous laugh. In that one moment I began looking at him differently.
It's now twenty-two years later and we have been married for over twenty years. We have a blended family that both he and I are very proud. That one moment changed both of our lives, and that of our children.
Was there a moment that you can point to that changed your life?
