Is it just me, or does it feel like no one works on Fridays in the summer anymore? Emails go unanswered, office parking lots are three quarters empty (especially my office), and court appearances always seem to be adjourned.
Has summer Friday off become an unspoken rule, or are we all just pretending to be "working remotely"?
Maybe it's time to officially declare Friday as part of the weekend—from Memorial Day through Labor Day? Do you take Fridays off in the summer?

A friend from India called to suggest we get together with mutual friends when he was coming to New York. Then he corrected himself and said, "Oh, I forget--New Yorkers do not work on Fridays in the summer."
When I was working, I was in the office 5 days a week-- because there was so much to do. Working from home was never as easy as it is today.
