It's Monday, Monday. Let me know what you think about. . .

Sometimes A Small Compliment is All It Takes
Sometimes A Small Compliment is All It Takes

Last week I took a day to work from home in the morning as I had my annual check-up scheduled in the early afternoon. After my check-up (which went fine), I took some time to do some local errands.

It was a rainy day and I was in really a blah mood. I rushed into Costco with a frown on my face and my head down. Suddenly a woman stopped me, which initially frightened me, as I was lost in my blah thoughts. She quickly told me that she wanted to say she really liked my overalls and wanted to know where I had purchased them. I happily gave her the store name and we said our good-byes.

The tone of my entire day changed with that short two-minute exchange. I started smiling and my mood immediately lightened. It amazed me what a single compliment could do to my entire attitude.

Like the woman who stopped me, I will readily offer compliments to strangers. Do you?

I do, but my mood usually dictates this. I enjoy sticking up conversations.

I miss engaging with strangers and look forward to getting back to it now that the City is opening back up. Even being able to exchange smiles with people again will be more than welcome.

Yess!!! I'm with Shelley. I am used to exchanging expressions, at least first. Covid ahs definitely put a damper on that but more to come.
