The New York Times has a story on the first page of the Travel section today on "The 46 Places to Go in 2013."  I like these types of stories, like SKI magazine's list of best new places to ski, so I took at look at the list.

I am not sure why they came up with only 46 places, or stopped there.  Maybe they ran out of ideas, or just ran out of space in which case I wonder which ones they left out.

Number 1 on the list is Rio.  Is that their number 1 place, meaning it is the best, or is it in random order,  I do not know, though putting Paris last makes me think there is no designed order.  But I do know that I would like to go to Rio, and so would Eve, so we count that in.

I see Acccra, Ghana is on the list.  I have been to South Africa, and would go elsewhere on the contitnent.  I would love to climb Mount Kilimanjarno some day though I don't know if it will actually happen.  But I am pretty certain I will not get to Ghana or the other African country on the list, the Republic of Congo.  You have to be careful in those parts, there are lots of rebels and they can be very angry.

A place called The Jesenky in the Czech Republic made the list.  Never heard of that.  But as we will be in Prague this April visiting Emily, I will have to check this out and see if it is worth an excursion.

I started making my own list of the places I have been that I would put on the list.  Like Grindelwald, Switzerland; Rhonda, Spain; and Hackensack, New Jersey.

Time to start making some reservations.
